Why we're pausing
Clear Mountain Provisions has always been a one-person workshop — every candle hand-poured, every order packed, by me. Right now, I'm putting that same energy into Makers Manager, software I'm building to help small makers run their businesses without losing the joy of making. It's a big undertaking, and it deserves my full attention for a while.
So my shop is taking a break. Clear Mountain Provisions isn't closing. Lord knows I have worked too hard to make it what it is, and people like you have kept it going for nearly four years. When the timing is right, I will get back to the workbench. Thank you for being here.

What we make
Clear Mountain Provisions is a nature-inspired home fragrance and provisions company based in Gainesville, Virginia. We hand-pour soy candles and wax melts, make room sprays, and source premium, high-quality goods from other purpose-driven makers across the country. Every one of our handcrafted scents is inspired by the great outdoors and moments spent by Chris in the North Appalachians. From the familiar scent of rain on a mountain morning, the sweet smell of mountain air, the forest floor after a storm, or your favorite apple orchards.
Our mission is simple. Bring the outdoors inside, even when you can't get there yourself. Chris was inspired to start the company while living out of a hotel room during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he lit candles every day as a small ritual to stay grounded. It's since grown into a company built to give back more than it takes. Everything we do is guided by a simple principle - Do what's right over what's easy. Every time.

Giving back and conservation aren't a marketing add-on for us. They're ingrained in everything we do - part of how the business runs. Since the day the company started, we plant a tree for every candle sold. We offset our carbon footprint, support reforestation after wildfires, support soil carbon storage, and donate to animal shelters and wildlife refuges to help provide creatures of all sizes with the treatment and homes they deserve, all through verified partners.
