A New Chapter in Midlothian: Clear Mountain Provisions at Painted Tree Boutiques

There’s a quiet kind of joy that comes from placing roots somewhere new. It’s not loud or showy, just the soft assurance that this is where we’re meant to be for now. Today, we’re excited to share something that has been unfolding behind the scenes: Clear Mountain Provisions now has a home in Midlothian, Virginia, inside the beautiful community of Painted Tree Boutiques.

 

This is more than a location for us. It’s our first real step into the world of retail—a small, brave experiment. We’ve always believed in the value of meeting people where they are, of creating moments of connection through scent and story. But this is the first time we’ve brought that belief into a physical space of our own, even if just a corner of it.

Why Midlothian?

Set just outside Richmond, Midlothian offers that perfect blend of pace and purpose. It’s a place where people still pause to admire the changing leaves. Where handmade means something. And where the community supports local makers in ways that feel personal and lasting. Being here allows us to share our work in a more tangible way—to meet face to face, candle to hand, with the people who value intentional living.

 

We dreamed of opening this space in Raleigh, the city where Clear Mountain Provisions first came to life. But the reality is, we simply couldn’t afford to make that leap just yet. Painted Tree in Midlothian offered us something rare: a gentle entry point. A way to learn, grow, and hopefully plant the seeds of something bigger. 

 

We still hold Raleigh close to heart. With your help, we hope to return there one day, stronger, wiser, and more rooted than ever. Until then, we begin here, grateful for the opportunity to grow.

What You’ll Find in Our Space

You’ll find our complete line of nature-inspired, sustainable candles—alongside a few seasonal favorites, our fan favorite MK Outdoor Lighters, our "Spicy Sauce," and other goods that speak to ritual and intention. Every item is lovingly displayed in a space that invites you to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and savor the details.

 

As of June 2025, our space is still a work in progress—and we’re okay with that. Growth, after all, takes time. We’re slowly building it out with care, piece by piece. This spring, we were gifted two beautiful bookshelves by someone who believed in what we’re doing. Their generosity made it possible for us to take this step, and we’re incredibly thankful for what we have now.

 

It may be simple, but it’s ours. And it holds a quiet kind of beauty—the kind that grows with community, intention, and time.
